Trofeo Estate Winery
Trofeo Estate is a family-owned winery that blends organic and biodynamic viticulture with an ancient winemaking tradition. Established by Jim and Kath Manolios in 2012, the winery has transformed a historic 1930s cannery into a rustic yet elegant cellar door, offering guests a truly immersive experience.
Trofeo Estate is renowned for its Terracotta Wines, a distinctive approach that involves fermenting and aging wines in handmade terracotta amphorae imported from Tuscany. This method, dating back thousands of years, allows the wines to develop soft, elegant textures while preserving the pure fruit expression and varietal character.
The estate spans 13.9 hectares, with vineyards planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a young Riesling block. These cool-climate varieties thrive in the foothills of Red Hill, producing wines that are balanced, expressive, and deeply connected to the land.
Visitors to Trofeo Estate can enjoy personalized tastings at the cellar door, where large windows frame panoramic vineyard views. The estate also features a casual grazing restaurant, offering seasonal and locally sourced dishes designed to complement its wines.
Beyond winemaking, Trofeo Estate provides farm-stay accommodations at Heron Hollow, a three-bedroom cottage surrounded by native gum trees and rolling paddocks. Guests are welcomed with a Trofeo Estate platter, ensuring a fully immersive experience in the tranquil beauty of the Mornington Peninsula.
With a commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation, Trofeo Estate continues to redefine modern Australian winemaking, offering wines that are both timeless and forward-thinking.
