Mitolo Wines
Mitolo Wines is a boutique winery that blends Italian heritage with premium Australian winemaking. Founded in 2000 by Frank Mitolo, the winery embodies the Abruzzo motto—forte e gentile (strong and gentle)—reflecting its commitment to crafting bold yet elegant wines.
Mitolo Wines specializes in Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourcing fruit from southern McLaren Vale vineyards, including Sellicks Hill, Aldinga, and Whites Valley. These areas benefit from rich soils, coastal proximity, and ample sunlight, producing wines with depth, intensity, and vibrancy.
Beyond its flagship reds, Mitolo has expanded its portfolio to include Italian varietals, such as Glera, Vermentino, Fiano, Pecorino, Sangiovese, Nero d’Avola, and Montepulciano. These varieties thrive in McLaren Vale’s Mediterranean climate, offering wines that are food-friendly and expressive.
Visitors can experience Mitolo’s Cellar Door and Osteria, set on Turraparri Creek, overlooking the Mount Lofty Ranges. The estate features two dining venues—Little Wolf Osteria, offering refined Italian cuisine, and Frankie Italo Dining and Disco Lounge, celebrating casual, vibrant Italian hospitality.
