Sabella Vineyards is a distinguished winery located in the renowned McLaren Vale wine region of South Australia. Founded by Giuseppe (Joe) Petrucci, whose family roots trace back to the Molise region of Italy, Sabella Vineyards embodies a rich heritage of winemaking and agricultural tradition. Joe’s father migrated to Australia in 1960, with the rest of the family following in 1966. A decade later, Joe and his wife Rosa moved to McLaren Vale, purchasing their first vineyard on McMurtrie Road. Over the years, their vineyard holdings expanded from 10 hectares to 44 hectares, supplying grapes to various wineries before launching their own label in 1999.

The name “Sabella” originates from a pseudonym given to the Petrucci family six generations ago, reflecting the deep historical ties and legacy behind the brand. Sabella Vineyards quickly gained recognition, earning the prestigious George Mackey Award in 2009 for its 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, which was celebrated as the best wine exported from Australia.
