Main & Cherry is a boutique winery that embraces small-batch, minimal-intervention winemaking to craft expressive, site-driven wines. Founded by Michael Sexton, the winery began in Cherry Gardens, where the original vineyard was planted in 1996. Today, Main & Cherry sources fruit from carefully selected vineyards across South Australia, ensuring each wine reflects the unique terroir and climate of its origin.

Main & Cherry specializes in Mediterranean and alternative varietals, including Fiano, Grüner Veltliner, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Grenache, alongside classic Shiraz and Pinot Noir. The winery’s philosophy revolves around gentle handling, wild fermentation, and minimal additives, allowing the fruit to shine with purity and vibrancy.

Visitors can experience Main & Cherry’s Cellar Door, located in Chandlers Hill, at the gateway to the Fleurieu Peninsula. Opened in 2022, the cellar door offers sprawling lawns, coastal views, and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying wine flights, tapas-style food, and live music on weekends. The architecturally designed space blends traditional homestead charm with a modern pavilion, creating an inviting setting for wine lovers and families alike.
