Sherrah Wines is a boutique, family-run winery based in McLaren Vale, South Australia, specializing in small-batch, handcrafted wines. Founded by winemaker Alex Sherrah in 2017, the winery is dedicated to showcasing the best varietals suited to the region, including Fiano, Chenin Blanc, Nero d’Avola, Grenache, and Shiraz.

Alex Sherrah’s journey into winemaking began after earning a degree in Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology. His passion for the craft led him to work vintages in McLaren Vale, Napa Valley, Clare Valley, Burgundy, and Austria before settling back in McLaren Vale as Senior Winemaker at Coriole. His philosophy centers on balance and texture, believing that great wines should have smooth transitions from aroma to finish.

Sherrah Wines embraces organic practices and produces a diverse range of styles, including Petillant-Naturel (pét-nat), dry whites, textural skin-contact whites, rosé, preservative-free reds, and single-vineyard wines. The winery has earned recognition, including a 5-star rating from Halliday in 2020 and multiple accolades in the Young Gun of Wine awards.

Visitors can experience Sherrah Wines at its intimate cellar door on McMurtrie Road, McLaren Vale. The cozy space offers seated tastings of its unique and distinctive wines, with bookings available for up to eight people. The tasting experience lasts about 45 minutes, with a $10 fee redeemable upon purchase.
