De Bortoli Wines
De Bortoli Wines is one of Australia’s most iconic and enduring family-owned wineries, with a legacy that spans over 95 years. Founded in 1928 by Vittorio De Bortoli, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Australia with little more than a dream, the winery has grown from humble beginnings in Bilbul, New South Wales, into a multi-regional powerhouse with vineyards in the Yarra Valley, King Valley, Hunter Valley, and Riverina.
At the heart of De Bortoli’s philosophy is a deep commitment to sustainability, innovation, and family values. The winery is a certified member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, and its organic range reflects a belief that great wines begin in the vineyard. Their “17 Trees” initiative, which plants trees to offset carbon emissions, is a standout example of their environmental leadership.
De Bortoli is perhaps best known for Noble One, a botrytised Semillon dessert wine created by Darren De Bortoli in 1982. It has since become one of the world’s most awarded sweet wines, with over 200 trophies and 550 gold medals to its name. But the portfolio is broad and diverse, ranging from elegant Yarra Valley Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to approachable, fruit-forward blends under labels like Woodfired, Emeri, and Deen De Bortoli.
Visitors to De Bortoli’s cellar doors can expect warm Italian hospitality, thoughtfully paired food and wine experiences, and a genuine sense of connection to the land and its people. Whether you’re sipping a crisp Prosecco or indulging in a glass of Noble One, every bottle tells a story of resilience, craftsmanship, and the joy of sharing good wine with good company.
