Artemis Wines
Nestled in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Artemis Wines is a family-run winery renowned for its cool-climate wines and handcrafted spirits. Founded in 1996 by winemaker brothers Anton and Mark Balog, Artemis was the third winery in the region and the first to plant Pinot Noir, earning them the title of Pinot Noir Pioneers.
Artemis Wines embraces a philosophy that blends old-world and new-world winemaking techniques, ensuring each bottle reflects European complexity with Australian varietal definition. The vineyard’s low-yielding vines produce wines with intense fruit aromas, fine palate structure, and exceptional balance.
Beyond winemaking, Artemis has expanded into premium spirits, crafting Gin, Eau de Vie, Brandy, Whisky, and Baijiu using traditional pot stills. The Artemis Distillery, developed over the last decade, showcases a modern approach to spirits, utilizing age-old methods and hands-on techniques to create unique, award-winning products.
Visitors to the Artemis Cellar Door can enjoy wine tastings, wood-fired pizzas (available on weekends), and live music every Sunday. The venue offers a laid-back atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while soaking in the scenic surroundings. Guests can also indulge in local cheese and charcuterie boards, enhancing their tasting experience.
With a commitment to sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation, Artemis Wines continues to shape the Southern Highlands’ winemaking landscape, offering wines and spirits that are both expressive and timeless.
